Emap denies Digital's future under threat

LONDON - Emap has denied that a recent management reshuffle at Emap Digital is a precursor to the closure of the company's loss-making digital operations.

The publisher was responding to reports suggesting that the shake-up of senior management meant that Emap Digital's future was in doubt. Emap Digital runs the company's online operations, such as the websites for its men's title FHM, women's glossy Red and music magazine Q.

A spokesperson for the company said that Emap Digital is still an important part of Emap.

The management shake-up involved Emap Digital's chief Paul Keenan being promoted to head up a new division. Emap Digital will now be headed by Dharmash Mistry, previously Keenan's deputy.

Emap has made job cuts and slashed its digital investment drastically in the past year. It plans to invest £20m this year, compared with £50m last year.
