Ecotricity poised for direct drive

LONDON - Ecotricity, the renewable energy supplier, has appointed direct agency Severn to manage its customer recruitment marketing, as it seeks to capitalise on consumer concerns about global warming.

The agency has been briefed to create direct-response national and specialist press campaigns.

The work will highlight global warming issues and the effect of carbon emissions to encourage consumers to switch their electricity supply to Ecotricity.

The renewable energy supplier provides electricity to homes and businesses, and is building wind turbines across the UK to generate greener electricity.

Among companies that have switched to Ecotricity are The Cooperative Bank, WWF and The Body Shop.
