EC&O Venues exhibitions defy credit crunch

Two recent shows at Earls Court and Olympia have bucked the current trend and posted visitor figure increases, suggesting some green shoots of recovery for the industry.

The Museums and Heritage show at Earls Court in May recorded a 29% increase in visitor numbers, while the International Art and Antiques Fair at Olympia in June celebrated a 10% rise.

The success of both exhibitions means they are already looking to the future. The Museums and Heritage Show, which will take place from 12-13 May 2010 at Earls Court, hopes to expand into the international market.

Meanwhile, Clarion Events, which organises the International Art and Antiques Fair, will be producing the Winter Fine Art and Antiques Fair at Olympia from 16-22 November 2009.
