EBay's Marks quits top marketing role

Alex Marks, eBay's head of international business marketing, is leaving the company to set up a consultancy.

Marks joined eBay Advertising International in April 2009. His new company, Fresh and Frank Consulting, will focus on helping brands make money through digital channels.

At eBay, Marks was responsible for its marketing strategy and raising awareness of the opportunities for brands to advertise on the auction site.

Before moving to eBay, Marks was at Microsoft Advertising in the role of head of UK trade marketing. It is not known whether eBay will replace Marks.
