Eat to the Beat, which has previously catered for festivals including Glastonbury, Leeds, Reading and Latitude, took a 45-strong team to feed production crews and performers.

Some 2.3 tons of meat were cooked during the festival, with the company also serving items such as orange and poppy seed muffins and offering a coffee service.

"What a great festival; the sun was shining down all weekend and everyone was in good form," said Eat to the Beat operations director Mary Shelley-Smith.

"It's great to see so many of our regular touring clients performing together on the festival circuit. We have had a fantastic season and will be finishing off this year with Reading, Leeds, and, another first for us – Bestival."

V Festival featured acts including Elbow, Snow Patrol, Lily Allen and Calvin Harris. Headline act Oasis pulled out due to Liam Gallagher's vocal problems.
