Crozier left the chief executive post after seven years at the end of June.
Ian Griffiths has been leading the executive team since then in a new combined role of chief operating officer and group finance director.
An ITV spokeswoman would not comment directly on whether McCall had been interviewed but said: "The board has a well-developed succession plan in place and is in the process of finding a successor."
