LONDON (Brand Republic) - Budget airline EasyJet has lost its fight for the rights to use the domain name www.easy-jet.com to a printer cartridge company.
The World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) ruled that Tim Warrington, who runs the Cheshire-based printer cartridge refill business, had registered the name without any intention to disrupt the business of EasyJet.
This is the second time that EasyJet, owned by Greek-Cypriot entrepreneur Stelios Haji-Ioannou, has lost out. In May this year, an online lingerie retailer, easyshop, refused to sell the domain name easyshop.co.uk to the Easy Group.
