E4's Skins airs on MySpace ahead of broadcast debut

LONDON - New E4 drama 'Skins' is being broadcast on News Corporation's MySpace social networking site prior to its debut on the digital channel.

Users of MySpace can episode one from today at .

The first episode has been split into four segments, with the first available on MySpace from January 18 to 21. Segments two, three and four follow on January 22, 23 and 24, with 'Skins' debuting on E4 on January 25.

The partnership is the first time E4 has made its TV content available on another platform ahead of its UK broadcast. Channel 4 first previewed a show online last February by putting the first episode of comedy series 'The IT Crowd' on its website a week ahead of broadcast.

The new 'Skins' community on MySpace was launched in early January and already boasts more than 10,000 friends. Four separate video trailers for the series have received more than 20,000 views.

The partnership is being supported with an advertising campaign across the MySpace network in the UK, including homepage advertising.

E4 has also built profiles for the 'Skins' characters where fans can interact with the show's stars, leading with main character Tony Stonem at .
