Durex gets primed for England's big moment

LONDON - Condom maker Durex is planning a special outdoor campaign on Saturday to take advantage of England's World Cup match with Portugal, with its own take on how to keep a clean sheet.

The 48-sheet posters will be carried on Advans driving through cities, including Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham, where the game will be shown on big screens for fans in England.

Against a completely white space, the copy reads "Here's to a clean sheet lads" alongside a small picture of the limited-edition "England Supporter" condom pack Durex has produced for the World Cup.

The ad was conceived by Dave Harrison and Steve Daniels, the creative team at McCann Erickson Communications House, formerly McCann Erickson Manchester.

Other tactical Durex ads produced by the agency include celebrating St Patrick's Day with the line "To be sure, to be sure".
