The competition will challenge participants to re-imagine the classic Rusty Nail cocktail; the brand’s most famous serve.
They will be judged on their ability to incorporate modern mixology and key beverage trends, as well as their choice of ingredients. Each creation must contain Drambuie at a ratio of at least 1:2 with any other spirit in order to qualify, and judges will be looking for a recipe that tells a story.
Drambuie's brand ambassador, Freddy May, will judge the first-round entries, and he will select 10 individuals to go through to the final heat, which will be held at the Brass & Crimson pop-up on 8 October.
Each finalist will create a beverage in line with the aforementioned requirements, and present the story behind it to a panel of judges including May, Dev Johnson - the principal bartender at New York's Employees Only bar - and Louise Corbin of BarChick.
The winner will be crowned Drambuie’s Master Raconteur 2015, and they will be granted the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie, who devised the recipe that inspired the Drambuie beverage.
The four-day trip will see the winner visit locations including Loch Ness, Charlie’s cave and Old Man Storr, as well as Edinburgh, where they will sip on cocktails at some of the city’s top establishments and relax in a day spa.
The Brass & Crimson will take over Smith's basement bar from 7-9 October, transforming it into a venue inspired by New York's bar scene in the 1960s. It will serve up a range of drinks, including the Rusty Nail, and host three one-hour cocktail masterclasses, which will be delivered by May and Johnson.
Hayley Aldous, senior brand manger at Drambuie, said: "The Brass & Crimson represents Drambuie’s biggest investment in London Cocktail Week to date and really emphasises our commitment to the London cocktail scene.
"The Brass & Crimson is a huge opportunity for us to engage with the trade as well as our discerning consumers and we’re really excited about seeing how people recreate the classic Rusty Nail."
