DNA and COI launch drug abuse treatment website

LONDON - Web agency DNA has announced the launch of a new microsite aimed at promoting services available for the treatment of drug addiction in the UK.

Developed in collaboration with COI Communications, the government communications agency will give drug addicts information about the different types of treatment available and the organisations that can help them.

Nancy Stanley, account director at DNA, said: "The use of the internet as the focal point for the campaign gives people an accessible and private way to access a wealth of treatment information. It is a useful destination point that, through its portal structure, can direct people to the right help points for them."

The launch of the microsite will be bolstered by a leaflet and postcard campaign in all GP surgeries and in pharmacies across the UK, created by COI Communications. Munro & Forster Communications will deliver the PR for the campaign.

The European Association for the Treatment of Addiction, the umbrella body for the sector, and several major independent drug treatment providers have participated in the project. The six major treatment providers are: Turning Point, Addaction, Compass, Cranstoun Drug Services, Phoenix House and RAPt.

Treatment Works is DNA's third collaboration with COI Communications, following work together on the Investors in People website and the safe sex website Playing Safely, produced for the Department of Health.
