
DMGT said it expected advertising revenue at its newspapers to drop by 24 per cent during the three months to March, and to fall at its regional arm Northcliffe Media by 37 per cent.
The publisher, which owns newspapers including the Daily Mail, the Mail on Sunday and about 100 regional titles, said it expected a total of 1,000 job cuts across its regional newspaper division Northcliffe Media.
This equates to a 20 per cent cut to 3,500 and twice the amount it announced in November.
DMGT, which owns newspapers including the Daily Mail, the Mail on Sunday and about 100 regional titles, said that recruitment ad revenues are expected to be down 55 per cent year on year in the first quarter.
