DMA's National Suppression File relaunched

LONDON - The DMA's National Suppression File has been relaunched under the name Xpression.

The file is managed and marketed by the REaD Group and contains verified gone-away notifications and postal returns, supplied by a consortium of leading suppression providers consisting of: The Gone Away Suppression File (Gas) from the REaD Group; National Change of Address File (NCOA) from Royal Mail; and Elvis from Tri-Direct.

Clients can choose between assumed postal returns or non-assumed notifications to clean their data, depending on whether they are targeting loyal customers or new prospects.

The file offers access to a combination of 8.5m records and is updated quarterly.

Mark Roy, chief executive of the REaD Group, said: "The UK population changes by up to 11% each year. Data therefore decays exceptionally quickly. As a result, it is essential for organisations to adopt a best practice approach to data cleansing by checking the accuracy of their data on a regular basis."

The National Suppression File was originally launched in 2000 and has been enhanced over the years.
