DMA one-day conference to address legal issues

LONDON – The Direct Marketing Association is staging a conference later this month covering a raft of recent and expected legal developments to affect the sector.

Subjects being covered at the one-day conference, which takes place in London on June 29, include proposals on changing prize promotion law in the government's Gambling Review Report, legal changes to email and SMS marketing and latest developments regarding data protection.

Speakers at the event include Phil Murphy, the Advertising Association's head of European Public Affairs, and Stewart Room, data protection unit head at Rowe Cohen Solicitors.

DMA legal and public affairs director Caroline Roberts said: "With so much new legislation being introduced and on the horizon, it is vital that as responsible direct marketers we keep up to date with the continually evolving legislative landscape. By understanding the impact such changes will have on our industry we can ensure that we use such developments to our advantage."
