The pair, who will work closely with joint chief executives Tom Knox and Richard Warren, replace George Prest, who resigned from his role in January without a job to go to. Prest subsequently joined R/GA London as its new executive creative director earlier this month.

Since Prest’s departure, DLKW’s deputy executive creative directors Tom Hudson and Steve Boswell have been overseeing the agency’s creative department.

Henderson and Denney, a copywriter and art director respectively, had worked at DDB since February 2008, creating campaigns including the "last tango in Compton’ campaign for Volkswagen and the "lyrics" ad for Budweiser.

Most recently they created the "our house" TV spot for Virgin Media, featuring a reworked version of the classic Madness song.

Prior to DDB, Henderson and Denney had spent four years at Saatchi & Saatchi, where they were responsible for the award-winning "old lions" ad for Carlsberg,

They have also worked at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R.

DDB creatives Christian Sewell and Andy McAnaney are also moving across to DLKW Lowe. Sewell will take on the position of head of art, while McAnaney joins as a senior copywriter.

During their time at DDB, the pair worked across a range of clients, including Harvey Nichols, Terry’s and the Financial Times.

Tom Knox, the joint chief executive of DLKW Lowe, said: "It’s very exciting to recruit the first ECDs specifically for DLKW Lowe. Their high quality, populist work, and bags of enthusiasm and energy make them the natural choice for the task ahead".
