DLKW lands Intelligent Finance brief

Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners has won the Intelligent Finance business from Campbell Doyle Dye as it tightens its grip on the HBOS business, worth a total of £101 million, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The loss is a blow to CDD, which is left with only one major account, the £17 million Mercedes business.

HBOS has slashed its spend on Intelligent Finance from £9 million to £4 million over the past year. However, the win means DLKW now handles the Halifax, Bank of Scotland, Intelligent Finance and Birmingham Midshires accounts. It does not handle HBOS's Clerical Medical, esure and St James's Place Capital brands.

CDD won the Intelligent Finance account from The Union in October 2003. The Scottish agency's work saw the number of Intelligent Finance customer accounts rise by 35 per cent from 820,000.

CDD made its debut for the Intelligent Finance brand this summer with a TV spot that featured a monkey teasing a zookeeper and the endline: "Intelligent Finance, until money grows on trees."

The news comes a week after HBOS named Philip Hanson as its top marketer.
