DLG completes acquisition of Wegener DM UK

LONDON - DLG has acquired the UK operations of Wegener DM and is keeping the company name and all staff.

It claims the combination of DLG's telephone and internet surveys with Wegener's comprehensive mailed survey and warranty card programme makes the enlarged company the biggest UK lifestyle data company in terms of quantity of household records, data volume traded and lifestyle-related turnover.

Jeremy Whitaker, chief executive of DLG, said: "The immediate priority is to ensure the smoothest of integrations, and we have retained specialists from Grant Thornton to help us ensure we maximise the potential of both companies from the start."

Whitaker stressed DLG's intention to support all of Wegener DM's operations including its plans to ramp up its data collection offering.

Wegener DM UK has now been split off from the group of Wegener DM companies on the continent, which have simultaneously been sold by parent company, Dutch media and marketing group Royal Wegener.

Dutch venture capital operator Greenfield Capital Partners was the buyer for the European companies, which are based in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and Scandinavia.

Royal Wegener is receiving a total of €30m from the two deals, which is less than its accounts value the assets at.
