Disney to run first spot ads

The Walt Disney Company is launching its first TV channel featuring spot advertising.

Disney XD, which replaces the axed Jetix, will target six- to 14-year-old boys. Launching in the UK in August, it will feature two new live action series. Aaron Stone follows a boy who saves the world in the guise of his video-game alter ego, and Zeke and Luther charts the lives of two boys aiming to become professional skaters.

Disney XD launched in the US in February, drawing 15.7m viewers in its first weekend.
