Disney appoints Peter Fitton to European sales role

LONDON - The Walt Disney Company has appointed Peter Fitton to the new role of vice-president, ad sales and promotions, to oversee all sales across Europe for Disney's TV channels and online operations.

Fitton will focus on Disney's portfolio of child-focused television channels and online offerings, including Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Disney XD and Cinemagic, as well as Jetix.com, Disney Online and Disney Family.

Disney said it plans to evolve its European commercial operations into an integrated group to include all products and services, across all lines of business, franchises, and properties (both Disney and non-Disney branded) across Europe.  

"Peter will be heading one of the most strategic organisations within The Walt Disney Company - EMEA," said Diego Lerner, president of The Walt Disney Company - EMEA, to whom Fitton will directly report.

Fitton was previously vice-president, international sales, Disney Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group, based in New York.
