Disney appoints Fitton to global ad sales role

LONDON - Disney has appointed MTV executive Peter Fitton to the new role of vice-president of international sales at its Disney Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group.

Fitton will oversee advertising sales strategies in all markets outside the US and will be responsible for building international opportunities for Disney's clients.

He joins from where he was responsible for new business across the MTVN's network of entertainment branded websites in the US market.

Fitton was born in England and began his career as a sales assistant at Television Media Marketing in London, going on to work at and in the UK and the Netherlands.

He was commercial director at Turner Broadcasting France from 2000 to 2006, when he went to .

At Disney he will report to Tricia Wilber, executive vice-president of Disney Media Advertising Sales and Marketing Group. Wilber said: "Peter's extensive sales background in both US and European markets makes him the ideal candidate for this position."

Disney's international TV portfolio includes 27 Disney Channels, nine Toon Disney channels, 10 Playhouse Disney channels and 19 Jetix channels, which reach a total of more than 600m viewers in more than 100 countries.
