Neither Wildman nor Discovery were available for comment. Both parties are believed to be in negotiations over his departure, which could come later this month.
Wildman joined Discovery from Sky as head of UK regional sales in 2000. His exit would follow that of Robin Paxton, managing director of Discovery Networks Europe, whose departure was announced last week.
Wildman's role has included linking Discovery's UK commercial operations to its European clients and acting as a bridge between its third-party sales partner in the UK, Sky Media.
It has been a torrid few months for senior management at the broadcaster, which includes channels such as Animal Planet, Discovery Real Time and Discovery Travel & Living, both in the UK and Europe. In October, Discovery appointed Yahoo! UK and Ireland head of business development, Jules Robinson, as vice-president of international advertising sales EMEA, replacing Monica Mather.
Then, last week, Discovery announced Paxton was leaving the company as part of a restructuring that will see the UK and Europe, Middle East and Africa division split into two.
Paxton's responsibilities will be split between the UK general manager, Dan Brooke, and the general manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Arthur Basting, who will report to Dawn McCall, the president of Discovery Networks International.
