DIRECT: WorldCom picks WWAV for £1.5m EMEA direct work

WorldCom has appointed WWAV Rapp Collins to handle its direct marketing across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The account is estimated to be worth £1.5m.

The embattled telecoms firm, whose chief executive Bernie Ebbers quit last month following a sharp cut in its growth forecast, has briefed the agency to develop a series of DM campaigns aimed at building awareness of its work and recruiting customers.

It is believed to be the first time that WorldCom has had a single DM agency overseeing activity over such a large region, and underlines its intention to create a more consistent look.
