Direct News: Black & Decker in EMEA activity

Black & Decker is bolstering its direct marketing in the face of increased competition from non-branded and cheaper rivals.

The company, which is the world's biggest producer of power tools and accessories, has appointed DS-J to undertake an integrated marketing campaign spanning Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The agency will also develop a consistent direct strategy.

Trade activity will break in the autumn, while consumer work will run next year, targeting both confident DIYers and those with less experience, to whom branded products give confidence.
