Dimension 8 has relocated Design Matters’ stock of 4,000 tables, chairs, and accessories to an expanded 460sqm facility at its Newport base. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, also includes goodwill and Design Matters’ customer list.
Simon Ridout, managing director of Dimension 8 said the deal would help it exploit a growing sector. "We have done some furniture hire business in the last but this allows us to complete the package with stand, electrics and carpeting," he said.
The company has promoted Andy Havelot to furniture operations manager, expanding his role to cover the anticipated increase in furniture hire. Havelot will report to Liz Ridout who will take up the post of furniture commercial manager from 3 May.
Simon Ridout said that Dimension 8 experienced a 25% increase in sales last year, with prospects buoyant for 2013.
"We have plans to continue to build the business in the UK and overseas," he said. "The investments, expansion and appointments we have made will reinforce the position of Dimension 8 as a highly capable full-service event and exhibition contractor owned, managed and based in the UK."
