Digital: Gocompare.com appoints TBWA

Gocompare.com, the insurance comparison website, is ramping up its marketing activity in a bid to steal share from rivals Moneysupermarket.com and Confused.com.

The brand has appointed TBWA\Manchester to its £10m advertising account. The strapline 'Gocompare it' will be introduced across all marketing material.

TBWA\Manchester won the account following a pitch against five agencies, including EHS Brann Cirencester, which had been working with the brand on a project basis since August.

Gocompare launched in 2006 and was the first site to compare insurance policies by product features as well as price. It uses a five-star rating system for car, home, bike and van cover, as well as vehicle breakdown services.

The company's media planning and buying duties, which are handled by Mediaedge:cia, are unaffected by the review.
