Die Another Day DVD launch backed by online campaign

LONDON - The DVD launch of 'Die Another Day', the latest James Bond outing, is being backed by a new viral game as well as promotions on AOL and MSN.

The campaign is being run for MGM by Digital Outlook and is the film company's biggest online investment in a marketing campaign to date. The DVD will be released to buy and rent on May 2 2003.

In the viral game, users will be able to find out if they've got what it takes to become a secret agent. It will include a mock MI6 entry test, including IQ, lifestyle and gadget-based questions. There is also an observation test and a shooting element. Players can compare their scores on the secret agent leader board.

There will also be a video email with a DVD trailer; and competitions on film and lifestyle sites, as well as on larger portals like MSN and AOL.

Charlie Bracey-Wright, assistant product manager for MGM, said: "'Die Another Day' will be the definitive DVD and VHS event of 2003 and the online activity will play an integral role in the marketing campaign."

Digital Outlook has previously worked on campaigns for the bands Busted and Sum41, and the 'Pop Idol' star Darius.
