Diageo urges students to moderate drinking in Freshers' Week

LONDON - Drinks giant Diageo GB is launching a campaign urging students to moderate their drinking during Freshers' Week.

Diageo urges students to moderate drinking in Freshers' Week

The campaign, called 'One Too Many', warns students that excessive drinking can see them end up in bad situations, such as passing out in the bathroom.

The activity, handled by Creative Orchestra, sees students given a camera at the start of the night to capture their evening. To remind them of the dangers of drinking, additional blurred photos will be added to their images when returned. The blurred images will carry labels with responsible drinking messages, such as 'Some of your memories are blurry. To ensure a better quality night, make sure you drink responsibly'.

The campaign also includes packs of Russian Roulette Breadsticks, containing one chilli flavoured breadstick. The packs will remind students of the importance of pausing for snacks between drinks.

Participating Student Unions will install vinyls in toilet cubicles to create the illusion of someone passed out on the floor, while curved mirrors will give a distorted appearance and make students question whether they've had 'One Too Many'.
