The event, which aims to engage event organisers with new technologies, will be held on 18-19 July in Dexter House, Tower Hill.

Founder, William Thomson of Gallus Events, promised two days of hands on experiences and networking that would give event organisers and marketers an overview of how technology could make their events better.

"Technology creates space that allows organisers to be more creative. We want to show them how to use technology to be smarter," he said.

Invitations to pre-register have been offered initially to Gallus Events’ LinkedIn Group, Making Good Organisers Great. Tech Fest 2012 sold out in six weeks and attracted 140 attendees.

Content for the first day of Tech Fest will focus on technologies that can be used pre-event to attract attendees, add value to stakeholders and assist in earning revenue. Day two will look at the uses of technology during an event, such as keeping attendees engaged, helping them to learn and assisting with networking.

Thomson said that he was keen to develop an open structure where the content was partly directed by the interests and requirements of attendees. "We don’t want to be stuck with a programme that is not what attendees want. We want to build the content around them."

Speakers will include Julius Solaris, editor of the Event Manager Blog, who will discuss event technology trends, and Stefania Conti-Vecchi of event technology strategists Eventagist who will look at how to run an event on an iPad using free apps.

Mobile app builder Twoppy will demonstrate its mobile event programme creator, while SMS and internet voting system providers Sendsteps will be showcasing interactive software. Tech Fest partner Eventsforce will present on how marketers and event organisers can make the most of the data collected at their events.

Thomson said he expected around 150 delegates on each day of Tech Fest.
