Dennis Publishing sells US magazines

LONDON - Dennis Publishing has sold its American magazine arm, Dennis Publishing Inc, to a private equity fund.

The company has sold US titles Maxim, Blender and Stuff to Quadrangle Capital Partners, a private equity fund focused on the media and communications industries, for an undisclosed figure, believed to be in excess of £100m.

Dennis Publishing Inc was founded in 1995. Its biggest selling titles, Maxim, is the biggest selling men's magazine in America with a monthly circulation of more than 2.5 million.

Chairman and owner Felix Dennis wished the company's new owner luck, and said: "In the UK, my company looks forward to remaining very much a part of the growing Maxim family."

Dennis will still publish the UK edition of Maxim, under license from Quadrangle. The US edition of The Week is not included in the sale.
