Dennis appoints BLM to £4.5m Project Squirrel business

LONDON - Dennis Publishing has appointed BLM as its media agency for its soon-to-be-unveiled motoring title, codenamed 'Project Squirrel', and is continuing the hunt for a creative agency to launch the new title.

BLM won the £4.5m business following a three-way pitch against two disclosed agencies and is scheduled to start work on the launch immediately.

Dennis is still in the process of conducting a three-way pitch for a creative agency for the title with an appointment due to be confirmed in July.

Phil Parker, group publishing director at Dennis, said: "We were looking for an agency that understood the core values of this magazine and who could formulate a strategic plan that would guarantee that our budget works really hard for us."

Brand Republic reported details of the launch in May. The title will sit somewhere between Dennis's current weekly Auto Express and Evo, its performance car magazine. No date has yet been confirmed for the launch, only that it will be in the second half of the year.

Dennis's circulations for its automotive titles were up 2% year on year in the latest ABCs. Auto Express was up 4.4% and Evo is up 10% year on year.
