Dennis working on 'project squirrel' automotive project

LONDON – Dennis Publishing is working on the launch of a new car magazine aimed at the quality end of the monthly market.

Dubbed 'Project Squirrel', the new title will sit somewhere between its current weekly Auto Express and Evo, its performance car magazine. No date has yet been confirmed for the launch.

Phil Parker, group publishing director of Dennis' automotive division, said: "The car magazine market is currently thriving. Circulations in the sector were up 2% year on year at the latest ABCs and we're feeling particularly confident because our own titles outperformed this, with Auto Express up 4.4% year on year and Evo up 10% year on year."
