The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall joined politicians in a temporary structure that was erected close to the memorial and guarded by tight security.

A 3.5-metre stainless steel plinth was created for each of the 52 people who died in the tragic events in London on 7 July 2005.

De Boer was contracted by Live Nation, the company behind the Wireless 2009 and Hard Rock Calling festivals, to install the temporary venues.

"Having originally provided structures for emergency services dealing with the immediate aftermath of the terrorist attacks in July 2005, De Boer was extremely moved to be able to play its part as the victims of the bombings were officially honoured," said De Boer project manager Sarah Chamberlain.

"The columns created in Hyde Park offer a poignant reminder of the innocent victims of the 7 July attacks."
