The review could see a global consolidation of the French-owned FMCG company’s media business, which is held by Mediaedge:cia in the UK.

Havas-owned MPG has the lion’s share of Danone’s global business, handling the account in France, Germany and the US.

Other agencies on Danone’s global roster are OMD and Carat.

WPP-owned MEC won the £31 million UK Danone account in 2006 after a pitch involving MPG, OMD and the previous incumbent, Carat.

Danone, whose brands include Activia yogurt, Actimel, Clover and Evian, consolidated its £8 million media planning and buying for Nutricia babyfood into MEC without a pitch in August last year.
