Dan Bowers, head of planning at TMW Unlimited, has been promoted to chief strategy officer to lead the agency’s 30-strong team.

He takes over from director of strategy Kate Wheaton, who is joining Ogilvy UK as head of customer engagement strategy in September.

Bowers will report to chief operating officer Alex Burley and will work across accounts including HSBC, LNER, Vodafone and the Department for International Trade.

Before joining TMW in 2016, Bowers worked at OMD, VCCP and Weapon7.

Burley said: "Dan’s ability to cut through the noise and inspire his teams to think differently makes him a breath of fresh air in our category. This is a much-deserved promotion and one that formalises his role at the heart of the TMW leadership team.

"Dan’s integrated background brings a wealth of experience to the agency and he will be instrumental in writing TMW’s next chapter."
