Mirror Mobile offers news and features from the Mirror’s website, mirror.co.uk, without users needing to register or subscribe.

Owner Trinity Mirror believes the launch signifies that it is now a multiplatform publisher, operating across print, online and on mobile.

The site, which uses a bespoke layout for use on a mobile phone screen, offers a personal news service, tailored to the individual, along with live sports updates via Matchtracker, and astrology and weather sections.

Users can select the categories most important to them and then build their own personal homepage.

The launch of Mirror Mobile is the first of a roll-out of 13 companion mobile websites across Trinity Mirror’s national and regional titles.

Launch sponsor for Mirror Mobile is consumer financial service, Mortgage Monitor, while Sportingbet is the partner for the Live Scores Match Tracker.

Richard Wallace, editor of the Daily Mirror, said: Mirror mobile will give our readers access to the Mirror wherever they are. We’re giving our users the news they want, when they want, in the format of their choice.
