According to sources, long-time director Alwena Hall, strategy and insight director Jo Scharf and business development director Peter Young, as well as a number of other staff, have been made redundant.
Miles Murphy, chief executive of Red Cell Response, said that those concerned were "still on the payroll" but declined to comment on individual cases.
"Following the recent appointment of Martin Troughton as UK chairman of Red Cell Response, we have been undertaking a review of the business. No decisions have been made yet and no comments an be made on any individual members of staff," Murphy said.
Troughton joined Red Cell Response last month, after resigning from Harrison Troughton Wunderman, with a brief to develop the sister WPP Group below-the-line agency's international presence.
It is believed that he was growing frustrated at the "corporateness" of the Wunderman agency, created out of merger of Harrison Pattern Troughton and Wunderman.
Troughton works with Murphy and reports to Amanda Walsh, Red Cell's European chief executive.
Red Cell Response was the rebranded name of Perspectives Red Cell, which was relaunched in June as part of attempts to upgrade its strategic and creative offering and align itself better with sister agencies.
