Cricket title closes after Ashes triumph fails to transform into sales

LONDON - Recently launched monthly cricket magazine Spin has been closed by its new owner, Future, despite the growing popularity of the sport.

Spin was launched in February by Highbury House, before transferring along with 37 other magazines in a £30.5m deal to Future soon after.

A Future spokesman confirmed that October issue was the final one, and the editor Duncan Steer has been made redundant.

"It was too niche for us, and we didn't see it working even with the Ashes over the summer," he said.
