Coors names new agencies for 2006 work

Coors has dropped web design agency DC Interact, replacing it with current suppliers Fast Web Media and creative agency Mobious, as it plans its digital and direct marketing for next year.

The brewer, which owns beer brands Carling and Grolsch, has appointed Fast Web Media to host its sites, having previously used the agency to handle its direct-response campaigns. It will also handle content management and data-feeds for all Coors' UK sites.

Creative specialist Mobious, which already works on Coors' ad design, adds web design to its brief. It is currently creating new brand sections for Carling's site (www.carling.com). There are also plans to develop more entertainment content for the football section of the site, starting with an online quiz.

DC Interact (formerly Dow Carter) stopped working on the account in late November, although it was informed of the decision in August.

Nicola Young, Coors head of relationship marketing, said: "Fast Web is very much a technical agency . It will host the sites and manage them on a day-to-day basis, and also deal with all our data-feeds like the Carling gig guides."

The appointments come as the brewer ups its digital and direct marketing budget for next year, though it is likely to go into DM work. Digital spend is likely to remain at about 拢7m.

Separately, Coors director of media services Stuart Cain has left the firm to join Wolverhampton Wanderers as director of communications, and will not be replaced.
