London joined a number of cities across the world, including New York and Shanghai, to launch the experiential campaign. Walls in north, south, east and west London were taken over by four artists and featured an original artwork, a self-portrait and a six-word story about their experience with Converse.

Illustrator Sam Taylor created a graphic chessboard-style piece on Shacklewell Lane in Dalston, Sean Frank displayed his abstract collage of portraits in Portobello Road in west London and Ashley Jagdeo designed a geometric pattern near Deptford Bridge. Over in Camden, Daniel Hirschmann built an interactive arcade game display.

To complement the Four Walls project, Damilola Odusote and students from Central Saint Martin’s created a London-shaped hanging installation made entirely from Polaroid photos of Converse-wearers. The piece was displayed at 3-10 Shoreditch High Street.

The artwork initiative forms part of a wider campaign celebrating lived-in Chucks that extends to social media and digital.

Ian Stewart, vice president of global marketing at Converse, said: "Made by you originated from a simple human truth – we all want to be our true, authentic self in this world. Fans of Chuck Taylor are the ones who have made Chuck Taylor an iconic badge of creative self-expression. It's time we celebrated them."
