The new company will incorporate Early Action Group, Stanco Exhibitions, Expo Systems, Opex Venue Services and Excel In Vision. It will be supported by Octopus Capital and will have operating bases in seven major UK venues, including Earls Court and Olympia, Excel London and the NEC.

Early Action Group and the Opex Group will continue to operate under its current names until the brand is launched at Confex.

Early Action Group chief executive Steve Barratt will become group chief executive of the new company, with Opex Group's Paul Slaney as chief operating officer.

"We have plans for a single super-network of services that will give bigger and better coverage for customers worldwide, with a smaller impact on the environment," said Early Action Group chief executive Steve Barratt.

Barratt added that there will be no staff cuts due to the merger.
