Online wedding network Confetti is planning to introduce financial
services to its group of sites. Five financial services providers are
pitching to the company about offering a range of products to would-be
brides and grooms.
Services being considered include loans, mortgages and pensions. 'We are
looking at pretty much every avenue,' explained David Lethbridge,
managing director of Confetti. 'We are talking to companies that are
pitching to be our financial partners, although the products might not
be under the Confetti brand.'
The first wave of activity is expected next month, and may see
particular offers tailored to Confetti users.
Lethbridge said that because couples are increasingly paying for their
own weddings, loans could be a valuable addition to the site. He added
that life insurance and mortgages are also relevant for partners
arranging new domestic situations.
'We haven't fully exploited these opportunities yet,' he said. 'All
financial services are up for discussion at the time of a wedding.'
Providers and products could vary across the network of sites that
include Confetti.co.uk, WebWedding and WeddingGuideUK. These plans
follow Confetti's strategy to include a wide range of party products
over the coming months, such as own-brand disposable cameras and
balloons.
