Macclesfield based Accession Exhibitions & Publishing has held the biennial event at Olympia since 2007.
Its managing director, Oliver Romain, said it is in the "best interests" of exhibitors and visitors to relocate the show and added they were "one of the lucky ones" to be able to move at relatively short notice.
"Olympia is a great London venue and the team have been very supportive in the past, however, the closure of Olympia’s weekday Tube services makes the venue untenable for many weekday trade shows," he said.
"It is very unfair of Transport for London to close the Tube station with such short notice, especially as most event organisers have planned ahead for 2012 assuming the Tube would be operational as normal.
"The Barbican is a fantastic venue and is ideally suited for specialist trade exhibitions; it’s centrally located and has its own Tube station served by three well connected lines. What’s more, it has a long history of hosting successful shows."
According to Romain, the company would normally have been contracted for its March show at least a year ahead, but recent changes in Olympia’s booking rules made the swap possible.
The Landlord & Letting Show and its sister event the Property Investment Expo will now take place in Hall 2 of the Barbican from 13-14 March 2012 with a further event at the Barbican in early September 2012.
