The drinks giant rolled out its well-known ‘Holidays are Coming’ TV ad featuring the Coca-Cola truck this weekend, during ITV’s 'The X Factor' on Saturday 9 November.

On 23 November, Coke will launch a TV spot called ‘Shooting Star’, focusing on the theme of delivering good deeds during the Christmas season.

The ad, set to a "heart-warming" soundtrack by Elvis Presley, will show Santa Claus attempting to create a shooting star in his workshop. The ad then shows people performing acts of kindness, such as a father buying his son his first car and someone allowing their friend to score a winning goal. Versions of the ad have previously run in other markets.

To support the above-the-line activity, the brand is reviving its Coca-Cola Christmas Truck Tour, this time touring what it claims to be the "kindest" cities across the UK. It is also rolling out on-pack and social media promotions.

Bríd Drohan-Stewart, Coca-Cola Great Britain marketing director,  , said: "Coca-Cola has become synonymous with spreading festive cheer and our Christmas campaigns, old and new, mark the unofficial countdown to Christmas.

"Shooting Star's central creative remains true to the brand's core values of spreading happiness around the world."
