Coke backs US theme park with animated mockumentary

LONDON - Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam has created an animated spoof documentary to back the relaunch of Coca-Cola's theme park in Atlanta.

The "mockumentary" provides a behind the scenes look at the fictional Happiness Factory, which featured in a recent ad campaign, also created by W&K Amsterdam.

It features documentary style interviews with Coca-Cola workers as they go about their daily tasks.

Real people working at Coca-Cola plants were interviewed for the film and their responses placed in the mouths of animated characters in the Happiness Factory.

The World of Coca-Cola claims to be the top indoor attraction in Atlanta and the number two corporate attraction in the world.

Since it opened in 1990, World of Coca-Cola has attracted an average of 800,000 visitors a year.

The theme park was relaunched in April, with Coca-Cola roster agency W&K Amsterdam tasked to develop an opening film that would encapsulate the essence of the Coca-Cola Company and the 'Coke Side of Life'.
