COI seeks digital agency for DVLA brief

LONDON - COI Communications has kicked off a pitch to find a digital creative agency to handle a three-year online project for the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.

Dare, Profero and Agency. com are believed to have been shortlisted for the account. The brief covers acquisition marketing and redesigning the to allow vehicle owners and licence-holders to access and amend their details online.

Amendments to driving licences or to the ownership of vehicles can only be made by post at the moment, although some forms are available to download from the website.

Recent DVLA advertising activity focused on changes to its vehicle licensing system that came into effect on 1 July, with a campaign created by Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners. DLKW won the £7 million account in 2003 in a pitch against Leo Burnett, WCRS and DDB London.

The DVLA has since increased its use of the digital medium -- the DLKW campaign included a significant online element, as did a recent push to promote organ donation, which was run in partnership with the NHS.
