COI hands anti-obesity digital business to Profero

The agency pitched against The Grand Union, Euro 4D, Anorack and LIDA. Profero would not comment on the account.

The appointment follows M&C Saatchi picking up the creative pitch for the DoH campaign following a four-way pitch managed by the COI in May.

The DoH has set aside £75 million over the next three years to back the initiative to tackle obesity.

The department announced in January that the wide-ranging activity would be part of the government's 'Healthy Weight, Healthy Lives' strategy.

A total of 12 agencies entered the original pitch process, split into three groups of four, competing for the advertising, direct marketing and communications planning segments of the work.

Manning Gottlieb OMD has been selected to handle the communications planning part of the campaign, beating Carat, Mediaedge:cia and Naked.

The goal of the anti-obesity campaign is to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
