Coca-Cola reinvents noughties ad 'First taste' for Zero Sugar

Coca-Cola Great Britain has remade a humorous 2006 spot in which the elderly Mr Hadley gets his first taste of Coca-Cola.

This time, the red Coke has been replaced with Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, while the action has been relocated from America to Britain. But while Mr Hadley’s accent has changed, the actor playing him – British born American Nicolas Coster – has held onto the role.

After having his first sip of the fizzy drink, Mr Hadley asks, "What else haven’t I tried?", before a series of scenes show him getting a tattoo, dancing in a Pride parade, and racing a motorbike down an expressway.

While , the remake was developed by McCann EMEA, produced by Garage Films and directed by Albert Uria.

The campaign, which launches on Monday 15 January, includes TV, cinema, digital and out of home.

Aedamar Howlett, marketing director at Coca-Cola Great Britain, said: "Coca-Cola Zero Sugar is one of the fastest growing brands in our portfolio.

"This year, to continue our focus on encouraging people to  try the brand, which has the same great Coke taste with no calories, we have re-developed a fantastic, heart-warming advert.

"The campaign brings to life the concept of those ‘bucket list’ moments that universally resonate with people. We want to build on the success we have had to date reminding people of what makes it so special".
