Cobra hands digital ad account to Poke

Cobra Beer has appointed Poke to handle its digital advertising account following a three-way pitch against glue London and twentysix.

The agency has been briefed to lead Cobra's digital strategy and web production in a bid to boost engagement with the beer brand's target market.

This will include developing its website, eCRM and supporting the brand's £8.4 million "now you're talking" campaign, which launched in May to highlight the fact that the beer was available in pubs.

The company, which did not have an incumbent digital ad agency, called a pitch in August after working with the Salisbury-based web digital agency enotions to rebuild its website earlier this year.

The appointment does not affect the Cobra roster agencies Joshua G2, INITIALS and Manning Gottlieb OMD.

Will Ghali, Cobra's marketing director, said: "We've already seen the calibre of Poke's creative work and it has some really exciting ideas."
