Circular Distributors promotes Neilson to MD position

LONDON - Door-drop specialist Circular Distributors has promoted Charles Neilson to managing director to ensure the firm continues its aggressive growth strategy in the door-to-door market.

Neilson, who will continue to be based at the Maidenhead office, takes over from Nick Wells, who becomes chief executive of CD with an increased focus on leading sister company TNT Mail's charge to become the leading challenger to Royal Mail in the deregulated UK mail market.

CD, along with TNT Mail, is a division of Dutch postal operator TPG Post.

Neilson, who is currently CD's director of planning, IT and HR, joined the company in 1993 as sales and marketing director and was promoted to planning director soon after.

He has also worked at data company Claritas on new-product development and sales management and has held roles with Infolink and Axicom.

CD is the leading door-drop company in the UK, delivering nearly 3bn items a year and has a turnover of more than 拢50m. It was acquired by TPG Post in 2001 and is part of a group that includes TNT Mail and Lifecycle Marketing.

CD's clients include Wickes, Procter & Gamble, AOL, Sainsbury's and Unilever.
