Cinematic "Ghost Recon" trailer blurs the line between justice and vengeance

DDB Paris recruits "Die Hard" director for bloody and brutal short film

Death stalks the people of Bolivia, and the Ghosts stalk death. The 14th installment of Ubisoft's long-running "Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon" video game franchise continues with "Wildlands," and a new cinematic trailer plays like a snippet of a big budget blockbuster, not a game trailer. A two-minute short film from DDB Paris shows the violence of the Santa Blanca cartel, followed up by the gruesome retaliation of the game’s titular special forces squad. To direct the spot, the agency tapped John McTiernan, the man responsible for classics of the genre, like "Predator," "Die Hard," and "The Hunt for Red October." Shorter cuts are running on TV and cinema placements in Europe ahead of the game’s launch date March 7.
